Well over a month ago, one of our hens decided she was going to go broody. We don't have a rooster so any eggs wouldn't have been fertilized so we kept throwing her off the nest several times a day hoping that she would give up. She didn't give up. She stubbornly went back and sat on the nest ever time. So we gave in and bought some fertilized eggs from another farm and tucked them under her. She has stayed on them and as long as everything goes good, we should have baby chickens and a happy momma hen on Wednesday. Or there abouts anyway. Wednesday is day 21. So we are keeping our fingers crossed. Here she is, sitting on her nest. She is so puffed out all the time that she has earned the name Fluffy Butt, lol.

how cute, I hope they hatch soon so all her hard sitting pays off. We have a old hen that my sister has to fight every day to get the eggs she always thinks she's brooding. It's sad because our roo is probly 5 if not older and we've never seen him hop a hennot once in the 3 yrs we've had him. poor old white hen she just wants chicks but, Bo will not do his job by the way what a lovly name
