Ok so I have heard of this a lot but never had probs with it in my herd until I purchased some does earlier this year. All have been treated but- I thought we could discuss what the members know about this and then the treatment.

Does can have trouble getting pregnant and will often abort. Low copper weakins a goat immune system and causes poor growth and muscle weakness in kids.

All goats should have free choice lose minerals. It's also a good idea to talk to your vet a bout what minerals are low in your area when picking a mineral blend.

Also makes it difficult for them to keep weight on and hoof problems and makes them more worm resistant. My Lacey was was severly copper deficient. Once the copper from her bolusing (we gave her a bit more than her weight since we were trying bring the copper up and not maintain levels) had a chance to get into her system, we began to see differences. today she is a completely different goat with good feet. Some people we know that don't bolus were having trouble with their does not coming into heat by November and all of ours came into heat just fine and were bred around the first of October.
The dosage is 1 gram per 22 pounds.

Hey Oatbucket are the ones you get cheaper than Jeffers? Or does the lady just purchase them then sell 1 or 2 at a time?

The lady I get them from buys the big coppasure boluses and then breaks them down into smaller sized boluses for goats. Each of her boluses will treat 33 pounds of goat. I don't have a gram scale and right now its just easier for me to order them already goat sized.
Her name is Whitney and this is her email butterblissnubians@gmail.com I think they are .75 cents each.
